Two prominent Island figures debut new works.

An anthology to end all anthologies, Honolulu Stories celebrates, examines and challenges all things related to our city, as seen through 200 years’ worth of writing—and a thousand pages. It’s got everything from Mark Twain to Rap Reiplinger, plus two pieces of fiction from our predecessor, Paradise of the Pacific: 1954’s “The Irresistible Henrique,” and 1946’s “The Forgotten Flea Powder.” Mutual Publishing, $35.
We were also happy to see that a 1995 HONOLULU article, “Eddie Would Go,” has been reimagined by its author, Marion Lyman-Mersereau, as a children’s book. Eddie Wen’ Go: The Story of the Upside-Down Canoe, $17.95, is from Watermark Publishing, a sister company to HONOLULU.
