A new boxing studio in Manoa

Caylee Tashiro is putting on the gloves at THE STUDIO. The 10-year-old began taking self-defense classes when mixed martial arts champion Egan Inouye opened his training facility in Manoa Marketplace last October. Classes, including boxing, jiu-jitsu, self-defense and kick boxing, are tailored towards a number of age groups, from 5- to 75-year -olds. “We’re targeting families,” Inouye says, suggesting group classes as a way for families to spend time together. Visit www.thestudiohawaii.com or call 988-6200 for class schedules and rates. photo: Mark Arbeit
