Legendary entertainers Don Ho and Auntie Genoa Keawe are gone, but residents can still find great Hawaiian music in Waikiki—from Kapena to Nohelani Cypriano to Sean Naauao—if they know where to look. Olomana, an icon of the Hawaiian renaissance, has performed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for more than 15 years. Known for its signature song, “Kuu Home O Kahaluu,” the group recently moved from its longtime Paradise Lounge venue to the resort’s Tapa Bar, where you can catch them almost every Friday from 8 to 11 p.m. Come early to catch the hotel’s weekly beachfront fireworks show.
